VISIT THE HIGHLANDS OF the United Kingdom!

The first organized Jewish community was established in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1816. A community in Glasgow was established shortly thereafter. As Glasgow grew, so did the Jewish population. Immigration from Eastern Europe throughout the 19th and 20th centuries contributed to the growing community.

Jews have largely experienced tolerance from fellow non-Jewish Scots. As of 2001, approximately 6,400 Jews lived in Scotland with the largest community in Glasgow.
