What They're Saying...
My husband and I and another couple spent a wonderful day with Peter. After our week long tour of Ireland on a tour bus with 30 other people, it was nice to have a large private van for just the 4 of us. The driver of the van was excellent, also going out of his way for us. We hired Peter for our “free day” in Dublin so that we could get a Jewish perspective- something that isn’t included in the usual tours of Dublin and/or Ireland. It was a rainy, miserable day, but Peter adapted his route to take this into consideration. What we really liked and appreciated was Peter’s flexibility on our tour. We had an agenda, a bit different than Peter’s, but Peter was great at rearranging the day so that we could fit everything we wanted to see/do in addition to his Jewish heritage tour. Included in our requests was a small amount of time for shopping. In that time, I found what I had wanted to buy, but I also managed to leave my scarf in one of the stores. Although Peter very willingly had his driver go out of his way to return to the store to retrieve it, the store was closed. Peter offered to go back the next day (the day we were leaving early for the airport) to get the item and mail it to me in New York. Happily, I received the scarf, and more importantly was the recipient of Peter’s generosity and Irish hospitality!

Thank you for a lovely morning. We really got a thorough feel for Dublin in general and for the Jewish community specifically. I looked at the trip advisor webpage and went to the tab that said ” write a review,” but they have four categories listed, none of which apply to you. If you direct me to the proper place, I would be happy to write a nice comment

Just to let you know we arrived home safely. Thank you for helping to make our tour exceptional. We enjoyed meeting you and the members of the Progressive synagogue in Dublin. I will in the next few days post on trip advisor. Our dinner at the wine room was also very good. Thanks again. It was a pleasure meeting you.

As two rabbis interested in Jewish history and life wherever we travel, we were disappointed to arrive in Dublin when the Jewish Museum was closed. Our guide, Peter, more than made up for it. Travelling around with Peter was like seeing Jewish Dublin with a very knowledgeable and warmly welcoming Irish cousin. Not only did we get a feel for where Irish Jews came from, how they lived, where they worshipped, where they shopped, and what they ate, but we stepped into their shoes with our bagel breakfast at Bretzels, formerly a kosher bakery. Peter, knowledgeably and imaginatively, made our day in Dublin perfect, also accommodating our interest in James Joyce, getting out of the city centre, and sampling local food and drink. Peter is outgoing and interesting, and with him we encountered and talked to some very interesting Irish people on a variety of subjects ranging from Irish-Russian diplomacy to the Dalai Lama, art therapy for children, and of course, good, glorious food. Peter made the most of what we hoped for and expected, and capitalized on the unexpected. It was altogether a magnificent day.

Peter was very engaging and before long it felt like we were visiting with an old friend. He drove us around the area a bit and very generously drove us across town to our next destination given that we were tight on time. We had arranged for a 90-minute tour with Peter, but he spent substantially more time with us; we could have spent more time at the museum and more time driving around and chatting with Peter, but we had the next tour already set up so we had to move on. We will certainly be back again and reconnect with Peter. At the end of our visit, we said goodbye with a group hug; we had indeed made a new friend.

We had a wonderful day today with Peter. Not only is he the BEST tour guide but he is intuitive and senses what sights may be interesting to his clients. My husband and I both commented that we felt we met a new friend. We had a terrific day and we would give Peter 10 stars if we could.

Laura took us around the Jewish area and Ghetto in Rome. She was fascinating to listen to and really good with our questions. She explained everything brilliantly and my 12 year old was able to repeat almost word for word to my husband what she had told us. She explained to us all the intricate detail in the Shul and told us of its history and that of the city, both ancient and more recent. Laura was a delight to spend time with and we learnt so much from her and would recommend her to anyone that goes to Rome.Thank you so much for such a memorable morning.

Laura is by far the best guide I ever had in Rome. She managed to use every single moment of the trip making it unforgettable, teaching us a lot of things we did not know about the Romans and the Jews in Rome. Her brilliant English as well as her warm and funny personality added to her strong knowlegde on the topic and made the visit very interesting and fun. I would recommend her for any visit in Rome. No matter the age of the visitor, if you go to Rome, then you MUST visit it with Laura.

My husband and I just returned from Italy on March 15, 2017. We took 10 tours during our 10 day visit to Rome, Florence, and Venice. We enjoyed our entire trip, but the day we spent with Laura in the Jewish Quarter in Rome was especially memorable. Laura was very knowledgeable about the history of the area – and we really enjoyed her company! I highly recommend that you contact Laura if you are considering a visit to Rome. Add the Jewish Quarter to your itinerary. You will be amazed by its rich history and beauty.

My wife and I couldn’t have imagined a more brilliant guide than Laura. She spent the day patiently showing us the sights, sounds (and food) of ancient Rome. A trip to Rome with Laura is a must for everyone.

Laura was an amazing tour guide. She took us through the shul which was very colourful and beautiful. Everything she told us was interesting about the Jews in Rome and their history. It was very fascinating about how the Jews have lived continuously in Rome for so many generations. Laura spoke excellent English.

Laura was very interesting to listen to and she knew a huge amount of information that held my attention. The conversation was directed at us children, thus getting me and my brothers involved in the guide of the jewish ghetto. It certainly was not boring and I will definitely recommend her.

Great for families too! I found Laura very interesting and it was great because I found out lots of things about the Romans. Laura was amazing at telling facts about shul and the Jewish ghetto. I learned loads from Laura. Laura was kind and funny. I recommend Laura for adults and children.

Our guide, Laura was well-informed and provided us with an array of facts and anecdotes that were set out in historical context… a well-rounded overview of the history of the Jewish community in Rome.

I was referred to Laura by someone who said she was an amazing guide and she certainly lived up to that reputation. Personable, funny, sweet and extremely knowledgable Laura gave me an incredible tour that really explored and explained the tremendous history of the Jews in Rome. It was the highlight of my trip and I would encourage anyone thinking of touring the Jewish area to contact Laura.

Our tour of the Jewish quarter and synagogue with Laura was one of the major highlights of our trip to Rome! Laura was an absolute pleasure as a tour guide–enthusiastic, warm, and deeply knowledgeable about both the history of Jews in Rome, and familiar with the community as it stands today. Since the Jewish ghetto no longer exists, it is difficult to get a picture of its historical significance on your own. I highly recommend getting this tour–you’ll have a ton of fun, and come away with real historical context. By far the best tour I had in Rome–thank you Laura!

My husband and I overheard Laura giving a tour and waited for her to conclude so we could ask her if she was available to guide us the following day. She is highly professional. Punctual, personally lovely and extremely well informed. She is passionate about history and this passion is conveyed in her presentation. We would recommend her without reservation.
